In September, our youngest two children started one of their greatest adventures yet: going to preschool. They are attending the preschool at our eldest’s primary school, much to their delight. Preschoolers are treated just like the rest of the pupils, and that means wearing a uniform.
Our little ones look so adorable in their tiny uniforms, but oh my goodness, do they get messy. Our eldest didn’t go to nursery, so I had no idea how many stains three-year-olds attract during the course of the day. We’ve had paint, soil, coloured water, even blood (!!) so far.
The one item that has caused me the most concern so far is our daughter’s white ankle socks. I have no idea how, but they are constantly covered in black grime that is impossible to get out.
In short, the Britmums #ACEforSchool challenge could not have come at a better time! As part of this campaign, Britmums sent me the ACE for Colours and ACE Stain Remover. Naturally, the first garments I tried the stain remover on were a white polo shirt with a greying collar and the offending white socks.
Admittedly, I was a little sceptical. I could not see how the sock, in particular, would ever be clean again. Having nothing to lose and everything to gain, I simply sprayed the stain remover onto the dirty areas and chucked the items into the wash. Imagine my surprise when they came out almost as good as new!
I’m really pleased that the ACE products work so well – it will certainly save us a few headaches during the rest of the school year. Our little ones can continue their messy adventures and we can keep their uniforms looking super smart!
